Out of the Mess isn’t just an organizing business. It is so much more than that. Hi, my name is Kristen and I started OUT OF THE MESS because I know how hard it is to make the life you want. You see everyone things organizing is just to make things look pretty and put them in nice containers (which don’t get me wrong, that’s part of it) but really, organizing is about helping simplify things in your life so you can create the life you want.

I became passionate about organizing when I saw myself and so many of my friends struggle to really live. All of us seemed bogged down in paperworks, never ending to do lists, overflowing laundry bins, toys all over - the things no longer made us happy. Everything became a nuisance. I looked aorund and thought - this can’t be the way to live. There’s something wrong here. That is when I stumbled upon Marie Kondo and her Tidying Method. It was with that lens of joy I began my own journey of self- assessment. You see although the joy thing can be hard at times, it was a helpful framework for me to begin to ask myself - what do I actually like in my home? And what have I just collected to collect? What I began to realize is it’s all connected - organization of your home, health, motivation, mood, even your relationships. I wish I could say hey we’re just going to tackle organizing your closet but the truth is - when you work with me, we’re going to be doing a lot more than just that - we’ll be going from chaos, disorder and overwhelm into the depths of why you hang onto certain things, to a streamlined, yes organized and also space where you can breathe and finally begin to make the life you want.

You could say organizing is in my bones. It’s something I’ve always done. My dad loves to tell the story of me organizing all the stuffed animals neatly around my crib, in height order. Organizing is something I’ve always done and as I’ve gotten older I’ve fallen in love with it even more.

For me, organizing is an opportunity: a time to go through your things, reassess what you need, and set up your space how you always wanted it to be. I love organizing because I love people. I love helping people through the muck, the stuff, and the emotions of it all.

I created In the Mess to bring my expertise, compassion, and love of organizing to you! In the Mess isn’t just about organizing your things; it’s about you! We are a person centered company committed to meeting people where they are, supporting them through their fears, and making their visions for their space come true.

Virtual Coaching

Virtual coaching is available for anyone who has a project, room or space that you’d like input on. We will create a plan to help you go through our organizing process. Hourly rates start at $40 an hour.

Packing & Unpacking

We bring order to the chaos of moving. We will provide streamlined packing, labeling, and unpacking into your new space. Work with In the Mess to alleviate the stress of your move. Hourly rates start at $70 an hour.
